Hello! I'm Adrian Nesta, a native San Diegan based in Philadelphia, PA.
I currently work as a Data Journalist, a gig that allows me to pursue my passion of utilizing data to provide clarity to our increasingly complex world. My drive to unearth the most comprehensive and compelling answers to questions has been the rudder of my career. Whether its required making charts, creating databases, or even building web apps, I have found pleasure and purpose in learning the skills required to create and distribute information that can empower and inform.
I have extensive experience finding and analyzing publicly available datasets — particularly from U.S. government sources — that serve as some of the source material that supports my work. In previous roles I have covered topics like the COVID-19 pandemic, prescription drug prices, the labor & housing markets, and inflation for Investopedia, Verywell Health, City Limits and others.
I am interested in data work on topics ranging from Bayesian statistics, economics — in particular labor economics — and finance, urbanism and transit, politics, as well as baseball, basketball, and film.
